Our guide León was the best! Had an amazing time on the tour of Hierve el Agua and the Mezcal distillery. As a bonus our guide offered to take us to the Tule tree since it was on the way. We had a beautiful day and 10/10 recommend taking a tour with Oaxaca by locals (and ask for León) 🙌

I had an amazing walking tour with Jessi from Oaxaca By Locals. She was an excellent guide - engaging, friendly, and exuberant. She shared many interesting things about the area, and I truly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend.

Sehr gerne wieder! Vielen Dank für den schönen Tag!

Oaxaca by Locals and especially their wonderful guide Margarita are brilliant! We went on the Hierve el Agua and Mezcal Distillery Tour. We chose to engage one of the specialist walking guides whose name was Saturno at Hierve el Agua and highly recommend this option too. A huge huge shoutout to Margarita who took care of us after thoroughly enjoying (and stumbling out of) the mezcal tasting. She was our guardian angel!

We did the Hierve el Agua tour, including the mezcal production and tasting experience, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We had a full bus of 14 people from five different countries. Our guide, Adriel, and our driver, Davide, were both excellent throughout the day. Adriel did an outstanding job as our guide. He is incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, passionate and he shares stories with the perfect mix of humour and insight, keeping everyone engaged and entertained. He patiently explained everything in both English and Spanish, switching effortlessly between languages and ensuring everyone felt included and informed. One of Adriel's greatest strengths is his ability to bring people together. What started as a quiet and cautious group in the morning became a bus full of people laughing, chatting, and having fun within the first hour. He also made sure our son, the only minor in the group, was included at all times while keeping the atmosphere appropriate and welcoming for everyone. Davide, our driver, was fantastic. He quietly and professionally focused on getting us safely to each destination, keeping us on schedule, and always being ready when each stop and tour concluded. This tour covers so much, making it a long day, but it is absolutely worth it. A huge thank you to Oaxaca by Locals, Adriel, and Davide for such a memorable experience. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Oaxaca.

Do yourself a favor and BOOK this tour! You won’t be disappointed! Yesterday I went on the all day tour including: Tule tree, weaving Center, Mitla, Hierve de Agua and Mezcal Fábrica and tasting. We also had an amazing lunch buffet with a wide selection of local cuisine! David was an exceptional driver and Stephanie was an amazing tour guide. Her English is remarkable and she shared so much interesting history, legends and tidbits in such an accessible way. It was a 12 hour day but Stephanie made the day so enjoyable! The time in the bus flew by and we all had fun!

Incredible cultural tour with the best guide! An absolute must-do when visiting Oaxaca! The itinerary is packed with amazing sights. And then there was our guide, Estefany. Phenomenal, super knowledgeable, and super friendly. She made sure everyone had an amazing time from start to finish with her positive energy and great vibe. Five stars all around! Hierve el Agua: A giant speleothem-like calcified tower. At the top, you can swim in natural pools, and/or you can walk a circular path to the bottom of the tower and up again. The Tule Tree: A fascinatingly broad taxodium tree. A must-see even if you are not a dendroenthusiast. The rug workshop: Where you can see a family workshop, get insights into which dyes are used, and learn the technique of rug-making. Mitla: A fascinating archaeological site of the place that served as the main religious and spiritual center for the Zapotec civilization. There is also a stop for an optional lunch where you can taste many typical Oaxacan dishes. Mezcal distillery: At the end, you finish with a mezcal distillery visit where they explain the production from the plant to the bottle, and conclude the visit by tasting all the mezcales you learned about during the presentation.
