We booked the excursion to Hierve el agua and it was great. They took us in a comfortable van during the tour, in a small group. The guide was super attentive at all times; He even brought us a traditional sweet to try.

One of the best touring companies I’ve been to in the world. Super great people here and they are mostly bilingual which is great. The facility was very clean and professional, the vehicles they carried us in were also very nice. I did not know what to expect when visiting Oaxaca but the locals here are very passionate about where they live as well as bringing people to explore it.

We took the Jalatlaco Street Art tour with a very enthusiastic young woman named Fer. Her English was great, and she was very excited to tell us all about the street art we saw. The tour was about 90 minutes, and my only wish is that we'd covered a bit more ground. Still recommended, however.

A very enjoyable day out on the Hierve el Agua & Mezcal Distillery tour. Well organised and our guide Miguel was very informative about the local area and Mexico! You have plenty of time to enjoy the pools and the hike by yourself. Would 10/10 recommend.

Great! We took the one day (12 hour) tour to Hierve el Agua and it was a great experience. Pavel was very professional and helpful. We had breakfast there at 7.30 am (they have a café in their offices). We also went to Mitla archaeological site and had a textile and mezcal experience and a stop to see El Tule (widest tree in the world). A food stop at a Buffet is also offered on the way. Hierve el agua was amazing as well. Great value! Highly recommended if you have only few days in Oaxaca.

We really enjoyed our tour. It was exactly as described, actually better, as there were a few bonus stops to nice shops to buy some quality crafts and gifts. Our tour guide Pavlo was exceptional, speaking clear English and always ensuring we were well informed with the key details about each site we visited, and having a good balance between interesting facts, and stories about the history and culture and adding in some good humour and key points of interest without talking too much. There was plenty of free time at Hierve el Agua to explore as we pleased, and the Mezcal distillery at the end was a great informative tasting experience which also had very reasonable prices for a high quality artesanal Mezcal. The tour van was brand new, comfortable and well air-conditioned, which was essential at this time of year with the strong heat during the day. I highly recommend this tour to see a full array of famous natural and archeological sights and sounds, to balance out a stay based in the central city area of Oaxaca.

I highly recommend Oaxaca by Locals. When I first arrived in Oaxaca I took a free walking tour with Carlos and he was very informative and showed us the highlights and points of interest around the downtown.I then booked a trip to Heurve el Agua with Margherita and it was a great way to spend the day. It included a trip to a bakery and a mezcaleria. It felt like a Fiesta! When it came time to leave Oaxaca I had already purchased a ticket to Puerto Escondido from the bus company but all buses were banned from the highway that day and I was stuck not knowing what to do.I really don't speak Spanish well and I showed up at Oaxaca by Locals to see if there was someone that could help me and sure enough Tania came to my rescue. She called a van company that drove to Puerto Escondido and also called for a taxi to come pick me up outside their office. She also gave me a bit of Oaxacan chocolate to take with me. I don't know what I would have done without her help that day.The staff is great! The staff is friendly and welcoming. Thanks Oaxaca by Locals!

Tour is a really nice option to see multiple oaxaca experiences in one day if you are short on time. Tour guide Pavel has traveled a lot himself and is very knowledgeable. Even though there were some roadblocks the driver quickly got an alternate route and we got to see everything.

We just finished our 12hr tour and it was SOOO worth it. The day was organized, well planned, fun, and restful all at the same time. I loved seeing the world’s widest tree to start off the day. Then, getting to hear from various locals about their weaving, mezcal, or candle business was beautiful. Pável was our tour guide—he was clear, informative and so kind! Take a long dip at the waterfalls was a perfect way to end the day…right before mezcal! This was the highlight of our 4 days in Oaxaca.

This tour was great! Margarita was absolutely fantastic! She made it so fun and informative at the same time. Definitely worth 3 hours at park. Do the loop trail, eat some memelas and swim in the pool! Thanks to margarita for making for a great guide

Although it was a long day, it didn't feel like a long day. All of the activities were well planned out and good fun. Pavel was a fantastic tour guide throughout the day, one of my favourite experiences on an organised day trip

We took the 12 hour tour to Tule Tree, textiles village, Mitla, Hierve el Agua, and a mezcal distillery. We had a truly amazing experience and would highly recommend this trip. Our tour guide Pavel came highly recommended, and he made the experience so special. He clearly has a passion for sharing the history and culture of Oaxaca, and added meaningful details along the way. If you can book on a day when he is giving the tour, you will have a really special experience. Our driver Roberto was also fantastic. He clearly knew all the roads and kept us very safe. This is a long day but didn’t feel like it. We were so wrapped up in the experience and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn the history and culture of this beautiful region.A few helpful tips-bring coins as the bathrooms in the small towns cost 5 pesos-you can get breakfast right at the meeting point-you can leave items on the bus during stops-bring enough cash for the entrance fees listed on the description, plus extra if you’d like to purchase souvenirs

I had a great tour with Pável! I only booked because I wanted to see Hierve el Agua, but got to see so many other things. Pável did an excellent job of explaining in both English and Spanish which I loved because it was helpful for me to work on my Spanish hearing him repeat things. He was so helpful and informative. I don’t normally do tours and prefer to explore on my own but I would do this one again. Great balance of free time and guided time.

We took two tours with Oaxaca by Locals! We were so impressed with the first one that we immediately signed up for the next day and took a different one! The first one was the market tour which I heartily recommend for those travelers who might want to go on their own later as it gives you a preview so you have an understanding of what you are getting into. Our guide Elizabeth was charming, helpful, knowledgeable, well prepared, in short… perfect! The next day we took the ride out to see the ruins and Hector was our guide and again he was well prepared, knowledgeable, friendly, spoke great English and felt completely engaged in what he was doing.Even the meeting place feels like a refuge. A safe zone. With a quiet area serving drinks and a clean restroom, the perfect place for the weary traveler.Overall it does not feel commercial. It does not feel like people trying to squeeze you. It feels friendly and real. They get extra points because I, old and confused that I am, messed up both of my reservations and they bent over backwards to fix the problems and make sure we had a great tour anyway.

We took the tour to Hierve el Agua with Miguel. Miguel was informative and friendly. He explained a bit about Oaxaca, before he and the driver (Edwardo?) took us to an artesian bakery before we went to Hierve el Agua. With this tour we were able to spend 3 hours at Hierve el Agua which was enough time to complete the hiking loop (bring sunnies, hat, runners), got to spend time in the pools and could get a bite to eat (bring cash). We then went to a mezcal distillery before making it back to Oaxaca. We recommend this tour!

If you're looking for a guided tour, they are the best! I tried many tours around the country and Oaxaca by locals was by far the best. They have the sweetest guides. I rode with Margarita and she's really good, smart and funny. I did Hierva el água and the mezcal tasting tour. It was amazing! Strongly recommend!

We did the Hierve el Agua and Mezcal tour with Tanya(sp?). The trip was fun overall and the time at the pools was great (bring lots of water for the hike, but can also be purchased from the many shops in the park). The mezcal stop was informative and useful (confirmed we will stick with beer and wine). For us, the highlight of the tour was our guide: she is keen to entertain, inform and help with everything. It is great to see someone who is doing something they enjoy! Thanks Tanya.
